  • Personal decking area facing open fields and woodland with outdoor seating.
  • Secure off road parking outside lodge behind electric gates.
  • Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement at a small extra charge.

Location

Stoneacre Lodge is approximately a mile from the historic village of Herstmonceux. The village offers a traditional pub, Indian and french restaurants, fish and chip takeaway, bakery, beauty salon and post office/convenience store.

This beautiful area of Sussex is well known as 1066 country and has a huge variety of attractions including Herstmonceux Castle with its science centre and observatory, Pevensey Castle, Battle Abbey, a variety of stunning National Trust properties, such as Rudyard Kipling’s home Batemans, Winston Churchill’s home Chartwell, Bodiam Castle, Alfriston Clergy House and Virginia Wolfe’s home Monk’s House in Rodmell, near Lewes.

The popular gardens of Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor, Sheffield Park and Merriments are also within easy reach. Glyndebourne Opera house is a short car drive away and the historic towns of Brighton, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Battle, Hastings and ancient Rye are also a short distance. The famous South Downs, Beachy Head, Seven Sisters and Ashdown Forest are wonderful for walks. Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne beaches are close by. Eastbourne has a promenade, pier, bandstand, theatres, large shopping centre, leisure swimming pool and cinemas.

London is approximately 1 hour by train from Polegate. London/Gatwick airport is an hour’s car journey whilst the Channel Tunnel, Dover is approximately 2 hours by car.

  • £95 per night
  • A minimum of two nights stay for advance bookings during peak season (May – September) and over weekends and Bank Holidays
  • A one night stay may be possible at short notice
  • Weekly rates available upon application
  • Provisional bookings must be confirmed by a non-refundable deposit of £20 per night
  • Payment may be made by cash or bank transfer
  • Stoneacre Lodge operates a no smoking policy
